A handful of Austin TX picks for you that you can find on MySpace :
I first saw them last summer and thought that they were OK but last night,
they blew me away ; the lazy genre description would be "emopowerpop" ;-).
The Fall Collection

This next band, I saw them a year or so ago on a bill with Sparkwood ; and
they reminded me a bit of Sparkwood but rockier. And I believe that they
will be at IPO Chicago next month.
Tammany Hall Machine

An oldie but goodie....I've known these guys for a few years but their 2nd
full length (Picture In My Head) will be released in April and you can
listen to a few of the new tunes on MySpace.
Household Names

And for something softer and sweeter....a 60s girl group inspired band ; I
haven't seen them yet but I found them when I was browsing the SXSW
schedule.
The Carrots

I saw these guys last weekend and was pleasantly surprised...I hope to see
them again in the near future. Nice male/female harmonies.
