Indeed - I'm sad to hear this. H.R. Pufnstuff was one of my favorite childhood TV shows, airing in late '69 when I was almost 5 years old. I'll never forget mailing in cereal box tops and a buck for my own "Freddie the Magic Flute." A few months later, I left it at a Williamsburg hotel, and was upset when my parents wouldn't turn the car around! Starring on that show, Jack Wild was charismatic and someone that kids could relate to. He seemed like a *slightly* shorter version of Davy Jones, and showed off his own song & dance routine in the Show Biz Witch episode, with the corny but cute "Pronoun Song."

"I is a lonely word,
You is a happy word,
We is a friendly word I much prefer...
Mine is a selfish word,
Yours is a thoughtful word, but
Ours is the nicest word of all."

The H.R. Pufnstuf DVD set (all 17 episodes) is a worthwhile addition to any home with a young child, or anyone who remembers the show!

Be seeing you,
Bill
