We were playing "guess the band" while listening to the "Best Music of 2006" Uncut comp, a couple of days ago. There is a track by Mew on that. I could not figure out what they were up to. To me, there was a bit of U2, but the song didn't really add up to much. Actually most of the stuff on that cd didn't do much for me.

The Sparks track sounded like a "jump rope" rhyme, until the band kicked in. Then I sort of like that one. We both thought it was Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti 5 was the best thing on the cd.

The trip Great Falls was well worth it otherwise. I found a very interesting promo by The Bazooka Company on Fontana. It's a Dunwich Production and published by Kama Sutra. I Can't Make It Without You/When I'm With You. Once I clean it up, I'll report back.

Also got a very clean wlp of Cheap Trick In Color.

The same SA also turned up an odd Fats Domino lp, Let The Four Winds Blow. It looks to be mostly covers... I couldn't pass it up.

On the cd side, things were pretty grim. The pawns that used to have heaps of good cds, looked like they hadn't bought anything for years. It was just the worst sort of dregs. I did find Live At The Wireless vol 2. It's got tracks by Ed Kupper, Red Kross, Died Pretty, and a couple of others of interest.

Karen had to go up to give a presentation, but needed me to drive due to her bum leg. The US Gvt paid for the mileage and per diem. I just had to sit around with her coworkers for a couple of hours. We finally made it to the famous Eddie's Supper Club for a real old fashion Montana dining experience. A good steak bigger than
your head, and not a vegetable in sight! Good martini too.
