 From http://cowsill.com/aft2/index.html
Billy has had a pretty tough year of it. Specifically he's had a
total hip replacement, and more recently an 8-hour back surgery that
pretty much did him in. He's been in and out of the hospital up in
Canada (he's out now) and they actually scheduled a benefit concert
up there in his honor that John was able to attend where about 400
people showed up. In addition to the surgeries, Bill has emphysema
and osteoporosis. They had to collapse one of his lungs during the
back surgery and he's coming back slow from that. He has a long rehab
ahead of him. Socialized medicine can only do so much and Billy is
going to need some help to get through all of this as his medical
costs rise. He can't sing right now, which is basically how he's
always made a living, and we, his family, feel that we need to step
up to the plate in the only way we know how since none of us are
independently wealthy ... thus the benefit concert and eBay auctions.

In the meantime, I've contacted the webmaster at one of the more
knowledgable websites about him and asked if they have heard anything.
