My favorite all purpose wave editing, burning package on the PC is Wavelab -
but it's expensive.  It's the only reason I keep a Windows machine around.
It is amazing if crossfades are part of your workflow.  I could mix all the
sets for my radio show in a couple of minutes - and it has a batch RMS
normalization which kept the levels rock solid between songs, never had to
touch the fader.
