Although I was in another band at the time, the very first Sun Sawed CD is called The Happiness (and other short stories) which came out in 1990 or 91. This was the first CD release after the cassette they put out. Good luck finding either one of those! They were one of the first bands in St. Louis to put out a self produced CD, so it really stood out among the normal local releases which were on cassette tapes.
The scene in St. Louis was pretty fun and interesting then. I had a pop band called the Groupers and we put out a few cassettes. There was another great band called Roger From the Dark that Auditeers might enjoy. They had a CD called Mind the Gap. Plus Eric Voeks resided here for a while and he had a couple of good albums, along with The Boorays who had a sizeable following in Eastern Europe and Robynn Ragland who shows up at the IPO now and then.
Ah, I wax nostalgic!

I just revisited "Bewilderbeest" the last few days in
my car. Such great stuff, and it made me wonder if
there were any Sun Sawed in 1/2 discs that I might
have missed. 'Mind Flip' and 'Hot Feet for Monkey
God' showed up in my search. I'm assuming they came
out AFTER 'beest' ?? How do they rate compared to
'beest' ?? For me, this disc is a cut above
'Fizzylift.'
And, has the 'Freshly Mowed Lawn' disc seen the light
of day yet?
