I've really been digging what I've been hearing from The Lashes. Indie 103.1 has been playing the heck out of "Sometimes The Sun". But on their MySpace page I've also been grooving to "Love Letters". Super catchy stuff. I've seen them referred to as a cross between The Strokes and The Killers. Not sure I agree with that, though.
What also caught my attention was their bio. As influences they cite the usual suspects: Cheap Trick, The Cars, The Raspberries. But what pleasantly surprised me was their mention of Shoes. When was the last time you saw a major label band cite them? Who knew that kids in their 20s had even heard of Shoes?
Their debut comes out next month.
