Recently, I saw a news article about how the Air Force was placing a huge order for Westone earplugs and how a lot of musicians and concert goers use them to cut decibels but not muffle the sound. I've been disappointed with the plugs I've found so far...especially what they do to garble vocals.
Is anyone using the Westone ES49s and are they worth the $175 (plus ear exam to custom fit)? And, if they do work, which filter is best - 9 db, -15 db, or -25 db reduction for loud club shows? ...website is www.westone.com.

Thanks
JD
