There has been an interesting and odd little mystery on the Scott
Walker list I'm on.
A link was found for an obit for a Tom Blue:

Here is how the obit starts:

WALKER BROTHERS Thomas Blue Braumheim, 2nd from left, lead guitarist
of the singing sensation "Walker Brothers", who were famous in the
60's, passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2005 at Washoe Medical
Center in Reno. He was 63. More famous in England when the group made
a 5 year tour in Europe in the 60's, the Walker Brothers smash
records that sold millions of copies include "…

Anyway, the thing is he was never in the Walker Brothers. It appears
he was never in a Walkers Brother cover band or anything.
Some wondered if it was some strange mix up.
However, list memeber's "research" into it has been going on
including someone reporting to know and have contacted Gary Leeds
(actual Walker Brother) and his not knowing who this person was. The
final odd turn in this is this seemingly credable list member
indicates he contacted the phone number at the bottom of the link, on
the obit. To his surprise he reached Tom's widow whom was obviously
still shaken over his death but also went on about Tom's acclaim in
the Walker Brothers. Obviously, he reports he didn't press per it
being rather awkward and inappropriate to do so.

Strange to me "if" (I say with a bit of caution) this was one man's
hoax (as it appears to be) or simply a strange mix up….

Have others heard of fake obits? Very strange, if this is true.
Fifteen minutes of fame a few days late?

(What's next: Memoirs that are fictionalized!?!)

Well, either way. Someday in an obit somewhere you'll read:

Steve Durben
Family man and one time roadie for The Popdudes….
