Nope--the power pop Dirty Looks that recorded for Stiff (Stiff/Epic, if I
recall precisely) was indeed from Staten Island, not the UK. And they did
release a second, import-only album (which I finally heard a few years back, but
which I don't recall now). "Let Go" on the debut is one of the most exuberant,
joyful pop tracks EVER. Cheers, CC! (And yeah, I know there was a hard
rock band that later appropriated the Dirty Looks name, but the Staten Island
pop guys remain the only Dirty Looks band that I acknowledge.)
