I *should* be doing my Best Of list, but I'm oddly sucked into this, as it's
also been a favorite parlor game of mine for a while:
"We're The Replacements" - They Might Be Giants
"XTC vs. Adam Ant" - They Might Be Giants
"Brian Wilson" - Barenaked Ladies
"Cool As Kim Deal" - Dandy Warhols
"Grant Hart" - Posies
"Jackie Wilson Said" - Van Morrison (also covered by Dexy's)
"Sweet Gene Vincent" - Ian Dury
Also, at one point, I tried to make a chain between the most artists that
mention other artist in one of their songs. Amusingly, I didn't write down
the songs in question, so I have fragments like:
Pavement -> R.E.M. -> Queen -> Mott -> Beatles -> Dylan
which I understand, and ones like
Gretchen Wilson -> Charlie Daniels Band -> Skynrnd -> Neil Young -> Beach
Boys -> Four Seasons
which must have had a LOT of help from this page:
