Marty's trivia- Useless, yes, brilliant, yes.

I'll chime in and third or fourth the emotion about Bukowski's on Dalton St. The best part about the place (beside the ridiculously large beer selection) is the terrific sound system. The music sounds great from everywhere in the bar. I'm sure you've all been in bars where at one end you hear say, Ringo and John, and then on the way to the bathroom they fade out and here comes Paul and George. Or even worse, the sound system is the jukebox itself, so if you're in front of the jukebox the music is blaring, but 15 feet away you can't hear anything.

Rarely you will find a bar where they play great music at the PERFECT volume level. Loud enough for you to hear and enjoy it, but you can also have a conversation with the person sitting next to you. And the bartenders play great stuff, too. Last time I was there my beer was that much more enjoyable as I listened to the Smiths' 'Louder Than Bombs'.

As for eating, the South End is filled with great, hip restaurants. Metropolis Cafe on Tremont is amazing, as is B&G Oysters on Tremont. Picco (also Tremont) is pretty good if you want something more casual- primarily pizza.

I guess it all depends on which neighborhood/area your business takes you. I just hope you have better weather than we've had lately. Cold and unusually windy.

And to return to Marty's entry about 'Gov't Center', don't bother visiting that (you may walk thru it if you visit Faneiul Hall, however). It's without a doubt the single ugliest spot in Boston.

Now you sing Modern Lovers,
Rob
