I recently found this on eMusic -- based on a couple of listens, I
quite like it. The main comparisons I'm hearing are John Southworth
(this is *really* John Southworth-like, in fact) and John Cunningham,
but I'm not sure I like it as much as either of them. I'm not
normally one to dis AMG reviews, for obvious reasons, but the reason I
stayed well away from this album for a long time was that the AMG
review compares HIDE, RUN AWAY repeatedly to Ben Folds, whom I find
insufferably smarmy and irritating. Luckily for me, I'm not hearing
any Ben Folds at all here.
