As we bid farewell to Rhino, perhaps it's a good time to mention some of the
old indie stores that are still hanging in there in SoCal.

RECORD SURPLUS (Santa Monica) Pretty friendly staff, good CD selection and
great inventory of old records!!
ROCKAWAY (Silver Lake) T'ain't what it used to be....major cutbacks in
size and selection.
LOU'S RECORDS (Encinitas) It is located on historic highway 101. Two
buildings--one for the used CDs and vinyl, the other for the new.Great
Store!
BLUE MEANNIE (El Cajon)--Once the home for anglophiles around the globe
(hence the name), the store changed hands a few years back and went over to
the dark side of metal. The change was a dream come true for every meth user
and skinhead within a 50-mile radius. No longer "Audites friendly" my
friends.

I would appreciate hearing from other folks on indie stores in SoCal, the
ones that are thriving and the businesses that are on the ropes.

Thanks!

Steve
