Adam,
Thank you for the reminder and the show. I loved Rick Nelson and very much
appreciated your song selection and commentary. It is great to hear all the
tunes but I actually wish that you kept coming in with some observations
during the two hour stream (still in progress) - a great job.
Though I grew up watching him on TV, I saw Rick only once. He had a
wonderful, hot band at The Ritz and I was so amazed to be finally standing
at a Nelson sock hop. It was around the release of Playing To Win and Graham
Parker was in the audience. He obviously wanted to hear Nelson sing his
Back To Schooldays which was on the album.
The night he died I was so angry that I put on the version of Believe What
You Say from Playing To Win and blasted it crying through the whole song.
Thanks again as this was a fine way to start the year.

Tonight, on a special Sunday edition of Pop Garden Radio, I'll be dedicating
the whole hour in remembrance of Rick Nelson. The plane crash that ended
Rick's life was 20 year ago last night, and I'll be taking a look back at
the musical legacy that Rick left behind.
The special on WMEL starts at 9:05pm eastern, and can be heard on the web at
www.popgardenradio.com . After the live broadcast ends, I will air another 2
hours of some of Rick's rarer tracks exclusively on the stream.
