The show is HUGE in the UK. The catchphrases have entered the consciousness of seemingly the whole nation.
Blur fans will recognise the show's co-writer and actor, Matt Lucas, from the 'Country House' video. Matt Lucas and David Walliams have been cult comedians for several years in the UK, but 'Little Britain' has taken their careers to dramatic (and very wealthy!) new heights.
The two of them also appeared on a Bluetones novelty b-side at the turn of the century. The Bluetones' frontman, Mark Morriss, has done a guest appearance in one of the PM sketches in series 1 of 'Little Britain'.

I've seen it- absurdist, brilliant English sketch comedy. Recurring charachters pop up throughout the DVD, and they're hysterical (the awful teenage girl, 'the only gay man in town', the inevitable guys in drag, etc).
Not quite as absurdist as Python, but great in its own right.
Pick it up.
