Maybe Tower is secretly funded by the Illuminati? I do see the strangest people coming in and out of the back room...

The store is pretty cramped and dirty, however. They used to have deep catalogs, but it has progressively gotten worse over the years.

Prices and selection are still not as good as my fav Philly indie, AKA Music, but it is not nearly as bad as Borders or Barnes and Noble. In fact, I just picked up the new Matt Pond PA for 11.99 and the Love Forever Changes and West Side Story re-issues for 7.99 each.

It was run as a separate unit of the store and it had a wonderful selection of jazz and rock, great prices, in store appearances, etc. (I saw Nick Lowe perform there with fellow Auditeer Michael Kropp). Unfortunately, the Borders brass killed it off about a year ago and now the music section is just like every other Borders...i.e., horrible selection and outrageous prices. I was so bummed when I walked in and saw that they had walled off the section where it used to be.
