I have no problem with SNL as a concept.
Just like an album, you are going to have
sone brilliant songs and some not so.
45 minutes of sketch comedy cannot be
easy, and well not always funny.
My issue is with turning 5 minutes
sketch characters into feature length
films. With the exception of The Blues
Brothers, Waynes World.... and I think
that might be it, maybe coneheads,
they have bombed. "It's Pat" anyone?
I also find that many of the actors
are so one dimensional. That goes for
all seasons. No matter who Martin Short
was playing I felt like I was watching Ed
Grimley.
As it stands now, I fall asleep during
the 11pm news, so I don't have to worry
about it anymore. Just amazing that it
has been on this long.
