The Special double November/December 2005 Fufkin.com
page is up. This month we have the following record
reviews:

Mike Bennett presents full length reviews of the
latest from John Cale, Paul Weller, The Fall, The Well
Wishers, The Capes, The Blasters, Rogue Wave, Chris
von Sneidern, Nothing Painted Blue and the new Nick
Lowe tribute album put together by Walter Clevenger.
Mike also has capsule reviews of Sugababes, Joe
Algeri, P. Hux, Ray Davies, Ben's Diapers, Mas Rapido,
Fred Prellburg, Coffinberry, Craig Wedren, Mark
Gardener, The Sugarplastic, Cats & Jammers, Stevie
Wonder, The Len Price 3, The Chrysler, The Magic
Numbers, Domino Kings, The Capes (EP), Peter Bjorn and
John, Merle Haggard, Bobby Purify, Fuses and Green
Pajamas..

Gary Glauber reviews the new Pugwash disc. And Kurt
Sampsel gives his take on the reissue from The
Aerovons.

In what is now an annual tradition, Michael Lynch has
updated his piece on the greatest holiday recordings
ever.

Gary Pig Gold ruminates on the anniversary of the
shooting of John Lennon.

Mike Bennett rambles on about the My Space phenomenon,
the Armed Forces book by Franklin Bruno and Martin
Gordon’s nifty companion book to his God Is On His
Lunchbreak album.

Alan Haber is definitely in the spirit of the season.
Just look at the title of his new piece – Porn To Go!
Not a classic holiday sentiment, to be sure, but it is
full of cheer (?).

Kevin Mathews returns with So Much Music, So Little
Time. He refutes the notion of being too old to rock,
and brings back Blurb-O-Rama to cover the gamut of
music from The Dammitheads to Great Lake Swimmers.

And Eric Sorensen has his final 2005 installment of
Further Observations From a Jangly Music Fan. Eric
talks about good radio (there still is some), while
waxing enthusiastically about past great music from
Lindisfarne, Firetown, Guadalcanal Diary and others.
Eric also looks at new tributes to The dB’s and Nick
Lowe, an album from John Corbett (of Northern Exposure
and My Big Fat Greek Wedding fame), the Children of
Nuggets box and other delights.

Please have a fantastic and happy holiday season. We
hope you all come and visit us. And stayed tuned for
the January page, when we’ll discuss some of the best
music 2005 had to offer.
