Not sure if this has been brought up in here ornot...I
might have missed that post but...I just picked up a
book by Bill Scheft titled "Time Won't Let Me".
Although I am only 20 pages into it...it is already a
very funny account (fictitional) of a "fabled" garage
band.
I think many of you on this list would enjoy it!
The preface is this band, formed in a garage in 1967
at "Chase Academy" and calling themselves "The
Truants"...recorded a vamity album titled "Out of
Site". Thirty years later, a collector pays $10,000
for a rare copy of the disc. An avid fan and promoter
convinces the band to reunite to cash in. But, being
far from their youth, there are many roadblocks in the
way of the reunion....from work, to family, to
addictions, to meeting up with Les Paul and former J.
Geils Band singer Peter Wolf along the way.
So far.....it is a very funny read!
