When I play this song on my weekly show, it almost always gets a call.
Even before folks knew who FoW, were, I'd get a call on this one (one
that I specifically recall touting that "this is why I love your show").
But enough about me ;) ....I think it's got a great hook.  And well if
it took 5 minutes, apparently it was time well spent. Don't mean to
split hairs or beckon the ugly beast of relativism, I just think it's a
better song, apparently and I don't think I'm alone!

If it was a mixed bag that ranged from "merely good" to stellar," none 
whatsoever, but you're discounting the handful of songs that are 
"utter crap."  "California Sex Lawyer" clearly took about five minutes 
to write, for example.
