There was this guy who was a regular at the same church as me a few years back that caught my eye because he had lost a hand and used a mechanical hook device. I never really met him but after a few years somebody told me that it was Victor Moulton, aka "Moulty" of The Barbarians (most Audities folks will need to look this band up in their R&R history books). At that time he reportedly owned a carpet cleaning company here in the Boston area. A quick web search though indicates he's now also doing the real estate thing. Based on the way other rockers (e.g. Rex Smith, Donnie Iris, etc)) use their former fame to build RE business I'm expecting that soon we'll see Moulty advertising "I Can Sell Your House...Doesn't Matter If You Are A Boy Or A Girl".
I think that John Borack should consider adding a "where are they now?" chapter to his forthcoming Power Pop book entitled "....A Bright Future In (Real Estate) Sales...".
Although Real Estate seems the career of choice for musicians who've realized that indie pop is not necessarily the road to riches and fame, perhaps we ought to make some suggestions for future lines of work for some of our favorite musicians....ones that might fit in with their stage persona or music??? Any ideas?.....

NP- Barry Holdship "Ruff Trax" - If I had bought this in 2004 (when it came out) this would have certainly made my top 20. Did I mention that Barry's performance with band last month at John Borack's pop show in OC was phenomenal? Barry also received one of the warmest responses for his solo show at IPO Nashville earlier in the year - and in a town swarming with talented musicians, no less. Barry, PLEASE do more shows and release more music!!
