Interesting post. I by no means worship as a deity any musician (or any 
other human for that matter) but John Lennon was (and still is) more 
important than any other musician in my life. First of all he was just so 
damned cool. Second, he wrote incredible songs with the Beatles. I like a 
good bit of his post fab four work, but his Beatle tunes are transcendental. 
I've been a musician since I was 12 and his influence on me is incalculable. 
I rarely try to write "Beatle sounding stuff" (I leave that to my pal Jamie 
Hoover) but every time I write and record a song, not far from the back of 
my mind is "how would the Beatles approach this"? They are my template.

He's been gone 25 years but he's still right here in my heart.
