I almost said and should have added...
The last thing Colbert said off handedly was something like
 "Jesse's Girl" was a good song." (laughter from some in the 
crowd). "No, Really". 


I'm glad, as Stewart indicated that Springfield had a sense of humor 
about it.
In part, I meant my "ouch" to poke fun at the reality of the joke 
towards myself as an ageing fan. Many singers that I like play to 
small audiences.  Add when they were more well known in the 70's and 
80's, then it's a smaller audience AND an OLDER audience.  You know, 
both artist and fans are all aging together which you know, is both 
kinda funny and yet, really is ultimately kinda great (to my way of 
thinking).
