Sounds funny to me. I think the jibe was directed more at Springfield's return to soap opera acting than the quality of his musical output.

I love the Daily Show, but couldn't they find somebody more deserving of
a cheap shot ? Rick's 2004 record was a damned fine piece of work, and
it ain't his fault that tone-deaf marketing weasels make the airplay
decisions....
