Of all the shows I've seen, the loudest had to be the Rush/Rick Derringer
show at Cleveland Public Hall, sometime in the mid-70s. Derringer was doing
Rock and Roll Hoochie Koo - the band left the stage - and Rick continued on
with a 15 minute ear-splitting solo that had me holding my ears (to deaden
the pain, not because he wasn't playing well). After Derringer, Rush came
on and I couldn't hear them (some of you may think that was a good thing).
I could swear that when I saw Kiss, around the mid-70s, that Artful Dodger
opened for them at the Richfield Coliseum (aka The Barn), south of
Cleveland. Anyone else remember this one?
