I (along with Auditeer Keith Radich) saw Kiss at the Syracuse War Memorial
at the end of 1976. I remember three things, and three things only, about
that concert:
1. At the age of 18 Keith and I were probably the oldest people in the
place, save for some "old lady" who was sitting behind us, looking like she
belonged at this show about as much as a ham sandwich belongs in the hands
of a rabbi (shudder- she looked at the time like she was in her early 50s.
Pretty soon *I'll* be in my early '50s! Would somebody just get it over
with and put me out of my misery, please!)
2. By the time the P.A. announcer said "there will be no smoking of any kind
in the auditorium", the place was so thick with the stuff that you could
barely see the stage, and the ensuing laughter at the sheer absurdity of
that announcement was even thicker.
3. Kiss put on a damn good performance.
