*Captain Mike & the Totems "Train of Thought".
One of my favorite CDs of the year. Not Lame's name-dropping of Macca,
XTC, David Grahame, Pillbugs and Emitt Rhodes is right on the mark.
These songs are fresh, original and super-infectious. Surprised I
haven't read more about them in Audities-land. This is '05 CD that I'd
recommend most strongly to everyone here.
* KINO "Picture"
Bought it for the proggy elements, this band includes (ex-)members of
Marillion and Porcupine Tree, but there's some very solid pop here. Not
the 2:30 and out Am-radio pop, but good songs with strong melodies,
solid hooks and excellent playing.
