Larry

of course you know the original Aussie vinyl is a very different record?
Luckily my wife was heavily into OZ and Swedish stuff in the early 80's so SHE
has a copy. The original Living Eye is also very different from all the modern
reissues. (I was able to find a nice copy in Sydney) You know the story of how
they had to steal a listening reel from Rockfiled 'cause Sire wasn't going to
pay for the studio time. The band knew, but no one told Kingsly Ward. The
original release was mastered from a 7 1/2 ips dub. They finally asked if they
could have their multi tracks back, and Rockfield said "sure". I guess the
tapes were in poor shape, but they managed to restore them and get them on
digi. The remix of the album is way better anyway.

You should read Vivian Johnson's book. It's a blow by blow account of what
happened. Funny thing, when they did the first reunion in '96 Den came back and
told me "jeez 20 years later and before we were done the same old arguments
resurfaced". It is only because Warick Gilbert quit that they are back
together! And it's only because Ron Keeley quit that they are finally doing an
album!!

Aloha
