Steve:
Good call on Derby. I'm definitely giving this one a try. Here's a few
overlooked from my list...
NEON
www.neontheband.com
Insataiably energetic, harmony drenched driving power pop from Australia
(produced by Steve McDonald of Redd Kross)
22-20's
http://www.22-20s.com/
this band of youngsters (average age is about 21) draws primarily from
British blues
and R&B and dishes it full-barrel with their own brand of hypnotic
psychedelia. Sick cool.
JOHN DAVIS
www.johndavismusic.com
Not sure I heard much chatter on the list about this former Superdrag
frontman's first solo endeavor.
It's a much more laid back affair (with overt references to his new found
love of religion)...but
it's chock full of some damn (sorry...darn) fine songwriting.
LET GO
www.letgorock.com
Brazen, full-throttle emotive power pop from Arizona (discoverd this on a
listening post in Tower
Records last month). Amazing...
WELL WISHERS
This band put out a record in 2005 as well...
