You forgot the end of the story...
Bash then regained his composure, and said "All right! Give it up one more

From Deflamer:
Audities Talk of Rock and Roll HOF Drives David Bash To
Nervous Breakdown
A truly gifted impresario usually can convey emotion and inner life through
a few pop festivals and some heartfelt stage introductions. Sometimes,
however, it requires a little more. A reader sends in this report from
yesterday's
IPO:
"David Bash put on a great show at the Troubadour [last night], but had a
minor, actually, pretty severe on-stage meltdown near the beginning:
"He was talking to the audience about all the Audities chatter about the
RRHOF and someone shouted "Shut up and introduce Ed James!" This seemed to
touch
a nerve with dear David. After politely explaining to the miscreant that "If
this RRHOF thread continues with Audities, I will leave the list, BITCH. And
NEVER POST AGAIN," he started
screaming and crying and "They say I'm just pulling a Tony Perkins," and
"You have NO IDEA WHAT I'M GOING THROUGH," and the O'Jays are raping the world,
etc. etc." As
the audience, who had previously been laughing and hawing at everything he
said, stood there in uncomfortable silence."
