Yep. I was at Attic when we put the Blotto record out... I think the
canadian version was a kind
of greatest hits. We actually got a LOT of video play for the "Metalhead"
(?) video and they were really great to work with. The irony is that the
track was a spoof but we ended up licensing it to all sorts of metal comps
at the time. I might have been around when they played the El Mocambo, I
can't remember. But man, we put out a lot of wild records when I was there
now that i kind of think about it - even a Johnny Cash/Julie Andrews
single!! I never laughed so hard at any label as I did at Attic... I can't
believe the stuff I got away it sometimes (if you can find my old Attic
newsletters, they are classic over the top). It all gets to be a blur
after a while (that was almost 20 years ago now) since i've been doing so
much since, but i think the Blotto stuff is out on CD. The big angle with
them was that Burt Ward was involved with them somehow as a manager, but I
never dealt with him so he may have been just a publicity thing.
