On the other hand, if Paul were to join the Cars, my thinking is it would be because he chose to.  Even though he's richer than most 3rd world countries, I believe that Paul's fame and riches are due to his talent AND a world-class work ethic.

My sense of history is that Paul and the other Beatles conflicted because he wanted to work hard and possibly resume touring, and the other three were simply burnt out and wanted to do their own thing.

He clearly has no issues charging top dollar for his concerts and so forth, and continuing to build his empire...not sure that he can be faulted for that, but bottom line -- I think he truly loves his job, and that's the motivation for whatever he pursues.
