I dunno... Byrne so totally dominated Talking Heads, both on record and in
concert, that going on without him made no sense, at least not under that
name. But the Cars, despite Ocasek's clear leadership, were more of a
collaborative effort, especially live, and particularly on Orr's songs, of
course.
So, while the "New Cars" might, um, crash and burn, I don't think it's
inevitable the way it was with "Heads." Time will tell.
