We went with 3 other couples to see Ben Folds play with the Baltimore
Symphony Orchestra last night. It was at the Strathmore music hall in
Bethesda, Maryland (suburb of DC). The audience make-up was quite amusing.
There were plenty of teeny-boppers up where we were sitting in the
cheap-seats, but also a decent amount of middle-age and older people down in
the orchestra area.
The audio mix was a bit off the whole night, masking some of the more
intricate string and horn arrangements, but man.was this a show to hear!
Many of the songs that I've only had a luke-warm feel for from his albums
were completely reborn last night with full orchestra arrangement. There
were times it felt like they were just teetering on the edge of disaster,
making for excitement much like that of a normal Ben Folds concert.
Here's a list of songs I remember him doing. He did about 3 or 4 without
the orchestra and I'll try to single those out too. Please feel free to
post a more complete setlist if someone has it.

Really a fantastic show. I know there is a DVD of his concert with the West
Australian Symphony Orchestra coming out next week.definitely worth a
purchase if its anything like last night.
