Short version, in order to protect their intellectual property
copy-protected Sony music CDs install copy protection on your computer.
This includes something called a "root kit". For those of you who don't
know, this is very bad juju. System instability etc. is the least of the
problems. Sadly, the kit they install is not even a competently
constructed one.
I for one will not be buying anything from them until this is pubically
resolved. I've sent them an email asking WTF. I'll let you know if they
say anything worth hearing.
