yeah, i thougt it was a pretty awesome show.....
some of you may know my history with this band, and tho I am a purist
by some accounts, the 3 back-up folks they had only made the show
better....i would bet it made the guys feel more comfortable knowing
that some sounds/notes/etc were covered so they could just enjoy
themselves......does anyone begrudge Brian Wilson all his backing guys?
too bad the opening film intro locked up about a third of the way
thru....would have been cool to see the whole piece, and the audience
comments were funny at least!!!!!!!
i felt everything was pretty spot on and it was undeniably cool to see
a band that so shaped my own tastes and mania (starting with
Raspberries Best on '76 for me) sound great and look good....yeah, Eric
has always been the 'show biz' guy in the group, but hey, who the heck
cares? Do we buy the newest Not Lame release by the LOOK of the members?
Anyway, it was nice to see Cathy Gale and my fellow Massachusetts pal
Jay D joined me at the Orchid Sutes for the show and all were pleased i
think....even the after show was ok, if a bit odd.....local dignataries
like Clem Burke, Wally Palmar and Chris Carter were in attendance, as
well as Mr. Kenny Sharp...... and did I see my old friend Anthony
Castillo from Slow Motorcade?
i DO have to thank Ken for leaving us some after show passes, so thanks
Kenny boy!
Which begs the question....will there be an dvd release of any of this
reunion? They were filming in LA, and I am sure this would be a cool
holiday release if they could get it going...
anyway, thats my 2 cents for now......

Hi Gary,
I don't believe the show was sold out Friday night. It was full, but I
believe
there were tix available.
Wally was by far the MVP IMHO, although the whole band was really good.
I don't
believe there were any Beatle cover's in Friday night's set. He may be
confusing the Searcher's Needles & Pins as a Beatle tune.
I thought the show was really good. "I Can Remember," "Let's Pretend,"
"Go All
The Way" & "I Wanna Be With You," were worth the price of admission.
Yes, I too believe poor Eric has had his face pulled a little too
tight.
BTW: Where were the audities member's holding court? I saw quite few
familiar
faces, but missed a lot too. Would've been nice to say hello to Bruce,
etc...
Best,
Barry
