I'll echo hard on this one, too.   Been a long time devourer of the late
80's/early 90's Kiwi indie rock material and the Bats were always one of
most interesting and consistent bands for my ears.   The new one picks up
very nicely where they left off and brings back some classic sounds for fans
of this era.  

speaking of, think it was around 1992 when Straightjacket  Fits, The Bats
and...hmmm..buzzing on it right now.  Think it was the Verlaines. Anyway,
great triple bill that toured together.  Saw it at the Roxy in LA and it was
a blur as each band just were better than theprevious, walked out in a
stunned state of contentment.  The remarkable thing, at that time, all of
the bands were on major or major label distributed labels.
