You know, I had to go back and listen to it again today...it's pretty
much my least favourite of Otis Blackwell's Elvis songs (but there
aren't any bad ones: Don't be cruel, All shook up, Return to
sender...and that's just for Elvis! He also wrote (or co-wrote)
Fever, Breathless, Handy Man, Great Balls of Fire...), but I think
it's mostly due to the performance rather than the song. It feels, I
don't know, kinda sluggish. Its soul base seems to cry out for more
of a late-sixties, Chips Moman-produced approach, which it didn't get
in 1962. Have you heard Blackwell's unreleased until recently "I'm a
Roustabout"? Nice work. All IMHO as well, of course.

"One Broken Heart for Sale"? Oh, I'm definitely with you on that one.
"who wants to buy a heart..."
"Happy Ending" is another favourite from "It Happened..." I also have
a weak spot for "They Remind me to much of you", and "how would you
like to be" though I haven't heard them in eons.
Thanks for the flashbacks, Barry!
