I must confess that my first favorite song (and first 45 purchased) is
the aforementioned "Seasons In The Sun", when I was 10. Thankfully, it
only cost me 59 cents at Grant's department store to license the track
back then.
I did make up for this retrospective lapse in taste by making Eric
Clapton's 461 Ocean Blvd. my first-ever album purchase. Of course, I
bought it for "I Shot The Sheriff". Although it might have been the
Captain & Tennille's debut album, which I also bought around that time.
