I'm a big Ian Hunter fan. His last studio release, Rant, was pretty kickin'
for a coot. When he had his last big swell of celebrity -- the Schizophrenic
album (which is excellent, by the way) -- he used to tour incessantly (with
Mick Ronson, RIP) and even stopped in my hometown of Flint, MI a few times,
packing the Capital Theater each visit. I've seen him since and he's still
smokin'. James Mastro from The Bongos plays with him these days.

The Mott album is pretty excellent, but I'm kind of partial to the more
shambling and chaotic Mad Shadows and Brain Capers, both under the crazed
producership of Guy Stevens (RIP2).
