I must chime in here. There will always be debate regarding what artists
and releases should be included on a box set with such a pedigree like the
*Nuggets* series, but as sophisticated as this list is, Alec Palao and Gary
Stewart are two of the greatest rock and music historian/archivists in the
*world.* Tastes may differ, but more knowledgable is a stretch, even as to the most
knowledgable here. I also think to say that we have better judges of
contemporary music on here misses the mark as well, but we are all entitled to an
opinion. I think the point is best taken with the last comment: "Oh well,
we could each do our own version of this 4-cd set with tons of
non-overlapping material...." This is absolutely true, and it is really great that there
is a release out there that actually is inspiring some interesting debate.
The bottom line is for the truly hardcore like me and a lot of you, "Trains" is
a nugget which for me makes the *whole box set* worthwhile. The set overall
is very worthy and is easily my favorite reissue of '05.
