I write about this at length in my upcoming Fufkin.com
column, but I would go further than David, Greg and
others -- I think the Children Of Nuggets is way too
diffuse -- a fine box set, but I don't think it really
upholds the name of Nuggets. They could have made a
great 4 disc comp of pure '80s garage and psych and
ditched the power pop and jangle. Then they could
have made a great 4 disc comp of '80s power pop,
jangle, Paisley Underground, and maybe even some
country rock.
Also -- "Trains" by The Nashville Ramblers is amazing.
The best song on the box that I had never heard.
