1) Anyone know what the real story is behind the current wreck of the
Arthur
Lee?
To quote the late Rick James, cocaine is a hell of a drug.
2) Can any Harpers Bizarre fans recommend their favorite album /
reissue?
To me, they're all worthwhile, but if I had to rank them:
ANYTHING GOES
THE SECRET LIFE OF HARPERS BIZARRE
FEELIN' GROOVY
HARPERS BIZARRE 4
AS TIME GOES BY
There's a Warner Archives compilation from about 10 years ago, also
called FEELIN' GROOVY, that's okay as an introduction, but it includes
nothing from the truly excellent THE SECRET LIFE OF HARPERS BIZARRE,
which isn't quite so much a concept album as it is a weird little
suitelike thing with a lot of trippy interludes and linking tracks.
If you like the High Llamas' HAWAII, you'll like this.
