OK, that's a cool first song fav. Me, not so cool.
My brother Darrell loved Elvis Presely (later he loved the Beach
Boys, I took a long time to follow this lead). Anyway, in one day he
came home from the store with FOUR Elvis albums. OK, they were all
soundtracks to his not so great movies (Kissin' Cousins, Fun in
Acapulco, It Happened at the World's Fair and Pot Luck). I was
probably five or six at the time (Darrell was 4 years older then I).
Anyway, that's when I recall music first grabbing me. I played those
things over and over. Tough to say which was my fav from the start
but I would guess it was either "(Theres) no room to Rhumba in a
Sports Car" or "Bossa Nova Baby". From "BNB" I still remember
stupidly giggling at the line "drink, drink, drink or fiddledy dink,
I was born with a drink in my hand". Anyway, these soundtracks opened
up the world of music for me. AM radio was soon to follow.
I still love those soundtracks, no matter what anyone says. :)
Anyway, my brother died long ago (he was 20) but David, you've just
re-reminded me of his impact on my first love for music. Indeed,
memories do rule!

PS: Bruce if your reading. I loved your post. I'm not sure what to
add to your thoughtful post. Still thinking...Mainly, I'd love you to
talk and "spam" all you want.
