Great thread!!!...but I guess I gotta show my age here.  For me, this has to be classified as pre-Beatles, because that was the real awakening for me.

If I can name three:

Take Good Care Of My Baby - Bobby Vee (1961) Age 7
Stranger On The Shore - Mr. Acker Bilk (1962) Age 8
Be My Baby - Ronettes (1963) Age 9

...and then, February 9, 1964, all hell broke loose.
