Delurking for a moment to express my appreciation to anyone on this list who
recommended them. Because of that I had hoped to see them at Coachella
Festival this spring; I missed their set due to traffic and security line
delays so I bought The Greatest White Liar CD while I was at the festival.
When I returned to Austin afterwards, it was love at first listen :-). In
June, I finally saw them play a full electric set at Waterloo Records and
was blown away. I saw them again that same evening opening for Louis XIV who
were alright but just couldn't hold a candle to Nic Armstrong and The
Thieves.
Anyway...Austin has become a second home for the band. Shane Lawlor, who
plays bass in the band, met his now fiancee during South By Southwest and
has settled here. The band has been staying in Austin since August writing
and demoing new material. Outside of the studio, they've played several gigs
and their set mostly features the new tunes. The next record will be more of
a band effort since all the members are taking turns writing and singing.
I'm not sure how much work that they've done so I have no idea about a
release date. But I can say with full confidence that if you like The
Greatest White Liar, you will absolutely love the next release.

Cheers,

Jennifer
