In the past month or so, someone recommended Tremolo to me and whatever
their description was caused me to try to track down a listen. Not Lame
didn't have it and neither did JAM, but Amazon did, so I listened to the
samples.

Ordered it immediately. As of right now, it will stand as my number 1
record of 2005 and it'll take an incredible disc to knock it off it's perch.

This guy's voice is a perfect cross between Bono (without the edgy quality -
sorry U2 fans, not trying to start a fight) and Justin Curry of Del Amitri.

Songs are power pop, hook-laden and only one of the 12 is sub-par (Baby Blue
- not the Badfinger version). Soaring vocals, songs that take unexpected
twists. Can't get them out of my head.

I'm not a huge U2 fan - I like them sometimes - so take this as you will:
Don't let the U2 reference scare you off. The sound here is not derivative
of U2 because Tremolo is a little less anthemic and significantly more hooky
and melodic. To these ears, the hooks are much more contagious.

Anyone else heard this?

Best,
Rick
