I had the Washington Squares first disc and I recall liking it a lot
for awhile. My wife really loved them and now we only have it on
cassette for some reason...anyway, she still listens to it. My
memory is that their second disc didn't get quite as good of reviews
as the first. However, they both can be bought on a single CD "From
Greenwich Village: The Complete Washington Squares". She sings lead
on some tracks and backing vocals on many. Her voice is great!
I saw them at the time of the first release many years ago and they
were very fun live. They had that folk-beat look thing going on.
They really seemed to enjoy the ride while it lasted (at least the
night I saw them). I've read a long time ago that one of the group
members died, which was such a shame to learn. I've never heard of
from what..does anyone know the details?
