Brian has a Christmas album coming out Oct 18.
Always been a sucker for music that's only played after Thanksgiving
thru Xmas eve (never on Christmas :> ).
Here's the press release with some song titles, who's in the band, etc.

Wired cofounder Kevin Kelly gave $100 to Wilson's hurricane relief
effort and got his
call from Brian. Very interesting...
Reader comment: Kevin Kelly says: "Yep, Brian Wilson just called me
after I donated
$100 via Pay Pal. He asked me what I did, and I told him. Then I
asked him two questions:
If I gave you a ticket to time travel, either to the past or to the
future, where/when would
you go to? He said, 'I'd travel back to the time when I was making
Pet Sounds.'
Then I asked him how many calls he's made. 'Twenty today. We've
raised $100,000 so
far!' I thanked him and that was that.

Big Star: love those 1st 2 records, never like the 3rd. Known for a
long time that I'm
in the Chris Bell camp. I'm from the south (NC), tho I didn't discover
Big Star until
1978, just before I move to CA.
Though I did see (& dig) the Box Tops when they opened for Wilson Pickett at
Dorton Arena in Raleigh, NC late '67. ~500 attended at a venue that had 5000
seats (the floor was open for dancing). This may have been their first
major tour.
Alex & the bass player were just a year or so older than our clique, Though the
others in the group were old enough to buy beer. We all danced to the
wicked pickett.
-----------
CvS: Both shy & a charmer. In addition possibly the best pop music
creater & deliverer
(ie, can engineer & produce with the best of them) around, IMHO of course.
